This CNS News article by Michael Chapman is more than food for thought. It is an indictment of American values as reflected in the twisted ideology of its President. Read the whole thing here. The article details the pronouncement of NYC (Brooklyn) Catholic Arch Bishop. ” Nicholas DiMarzio, the Catholic bishop of thediocese of Brooklyn, N.Y., says that in his zealous support for abortion, President Barack Obama has used his position not to help mothers and children in difficult circumstances but instead has been an advocate for that which “is shameful and criminal in the eyes of Almighty God.” Emphasis ours.
An Excellent Spirit has written on the culture of death at work in the world and specifically in America. Here Bishop DiMarzo, it seems would agree. “In his column for the diocesan newspaper The Tablet, entitled “Deeper Into the Culture of Death,” Bishop DiMarzio praises Abraham Lincoln, the abolition of slavery, and notes how far the nation has come in electing Obama as president. DiMarzio also notes the 40th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision, which legalized abortion through all nine months of pregnancy and how Obama has promoted that decision.”
We have also written on abortion and its roots in the race cleansing politics of the fanatic Margaret Sanger and the other anti-American, anti-Christ twisted, immoral thinkers that founded Planned Parenthood. Here BishopDiMarzo takes up that argument: “The so-called ‘pro-choice’ movement has its roots in the ideology of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, who understood her call to be one who would ‘assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit,’” states Bishop DiMarzio. “Of course, a young Barack Obama was precisely the sort of unfit child that Sanger and her allies would want to eliminate.”
It is almost impossible to get a handle on exactly who our President is. Culturally he is close to Anti-American. Many have said he is anti-colonialist from his father’s influence. Others have said he is anti-Israeli and pro Muslim. We have even carried the story of his possible Muslim faith and the curious tale of his wedding ring. Here The bottom line is what a person does and those with whom they associate. DiMarzo correctly aligns President Obama and his policies against Judeo Christian values and the Word of God. “Tragically, the President has not been an advocate for those young children faced with similarly difficult circumstances,” says Bp. DiMarzio. “He has chosen to use the bully pulpit not to call upon us all to be nobler and to embrace each child, regardless of origins and circumstances; rather, he has been a proponent of an expediency that is shameful and criminal in the eyes of Almighty God.”
This nation is faced with hard, critical times. It is not because of any inherent weakness of our people or our system. Just look anywhere else to dispel those thoughts that the left foist on us through our far left lamestream media and academia. There is nothing better. There is no people more giving, compassionate, free and joyful than Americans. That includes those who have come here (even illegally) and bask in the freedom and all that means to a person’s psyche and quality of life.
Bishop DiMarzo, the leader of the largest borough of New York City, the diocese of Brooklyn, containing about 1.5 million Catholics, 206 parishes, and 119 Catholic schools is a spiritual leader of a city of faith and should be listened to, not only by Catholics, but by every American. That would include, first and foremost our newly re-elected President, no matter what his faith or roots. He is our President. It is time Barack Hussein Obama started acting like it, abroad and here at home. DiMarzo concludes, “I would have hoped that the first African-American president of the United States would have stood on the side of freedom for all,” says Bishop DiMarzio in conclusion. “Instead, he stands on the side of political expediency. Mr. Lincoln, with great difficulty, put out into the deep and paid with his life. Would that our political leaders today would have some of the same courage.”
Americans must decide if this nation will continue down the path to cultivating this spirit of death. Until Americans see the connection between death by maniac in the schools and the devalued culture of death abortion inculcates in all of us, we risk falling prey to more and worse forms of that terrible spirit. Religious leaders like Bishop DiMarzo must speak up and their congregants must begin to do so as well and vote that conviction above all else. God is the author and giver of life. “Revelation 4:11 says, “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created.” So God created all things, including man’s life. Genesis chapter 1 and 2 talks about creation, Gen 2:7 says, “Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life”.
In Deuteronomy 30:19 God says to all His creation, “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” There were really only two trees in the Garden from which God banned Adam and Eve after they sinned. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil which God said would only lead to death and the Tree of Life. How many times does God have to tell us? We can either have life or death. We choose, but there is no third choice, no cop out, no way to evade His Truth. And no one can have it both ways. Emphasis ours.
America must ask the essential question: How can man, the creation say to God, the Creator, the choices that You gave to us between life and death (Deuteronomy 30:19)? We choose death! The prophet Isaiah wrote about this kind of reasoning. In Isaiah 45:9, he said, ““Woe to him who strives with him who formed him, a pot among earthen pots! Does the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ or ‘Your work has no handles’?” That is what we are doing, America. Bishop DiMarzo is merely pointing that out in a civilized, calm manner. God will not be so calm about the death of what He has created.
Well said, Bishop! Your words ring loud here on earth and in Heaven. May God bless America.
