More Takers Than Makers

There are few jobs and vast unemployment the world over. Protests have been reported worldwide. Why is this happening, everywhere? An Excellent Spirit is beginning to think that the unrest and demonstrations are only the prelude to a tumultuous future.

S. problem is because there are now more “takers than makers”. This, from The Fiscal Times says the “takers” are pushing America over a fiscal cliff.

Benjamin Franklin said, “When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” De Tocqueville, the French observer of the nascent American Republic, said, “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.” People do not riot without cause. Sometimes, those causes are political. Sometimes, the causes are not. Let us all pray that we make those changes, or those who founded us may be truly prophetic.
